Oh my goodness...

I about DIED from cuteness shock today when I saw THIS!

Ever have the friends that say "Me? Kids? Never!"
Well, this is the sort of thing that pushes those types of people over to the fuzzy wuzzy babymakin side!
Something this adorable should be illegal. Really. It's a little ridiculous.
And I know you all must have one now... so here is where to find it.
Artology can be found on Etsy and she has a whole line-up of stinkin cute hats! And it appears that most of them can be custom made for babies that are teeny weeny size to the OMGthisKIDmakesMECRAZY! 4 year old size. Perfect!

I've neglected this since March!

Wow, I can't believe that I have ignored this blog since March! I really have no concept of time it seems. Its almost like that bodymorphic thing where people don't realize that they are anorexic or really fat, etc. Except my version is with time. I know that the days have gone by but it doesn't really hit me. In all fairness tho, a lot of stuff has been going on!
I guess I can't escape the fact that we are heading into the last months of the year. My son has his 4th birthday in less then 3 weeks. He has grand expectations for his party and I hope I do not disappoint lol. He has an obsession with Hummers and hopefully we can score use of a Hummer for a day (from a friend that has a car lot). It's going to be the Party Hummer complete with balloons. Sure to thrill :)
He is also getting ready for Christmas... I should let this kid start preparing my shop for me, he is so on top of things! Last night while I was laying in bed with a headache he came to me with a pen and paper and wanted me to draw a picture of a Hummer for him. For his letter to Santa. But he was really sweet about the whole thing, and explained that I could draw the picture while laying down "like this" as he plopped down onto Daddy's side of the bed, planted his head on the pillow and pretended to draw. I finally gave in and drew the Hummer. He kept telling me what a good job I was doing. And it was going good until.... "No Mom!" Don't put a shed on it! If you put a shed on it then I can't get in and out! I can park it under the porch to charge! Don't make a shed!" By shed he meant canopy, or apparently the top of the hummer. He wanted a topless Hummer. I explained to him that it sounds more like he wants a Jeep then. And he got very exasperated and flipped the paper over. "Start over Mom." And I did. At 9pm with a headache. Thats a Mom's love for you. " That looks like a truck mom. I don't want a truck!" Finally I got it right and he was very pleased with the picture after instructing me on where to put the windshield wipers, lights, etc. Then I had to list where this Hummer will be able to drive, sand, grass, dirt, etc. And it "WON'T GET STUCK IN MUD!" Then I had to make a list of all the friends that will ride in it. This kid is the Christmas list Nazi. Tis the season.
Anyways, Santa better have his act together this year. And some $. And something really good for me.

My new love...

If I die and don't end up getting into Heaven then my second choice would be the Fabric Depot in Portland, Oregon. I went there for the first time yesterday and all I can say is WOW. Now I have ordered fabric online from the Fabric Depot before... and that was great (all online orders are 30% off), but that in no way compares to the adrenaline rush I got when I walked into the store. Actually it's not just a "store". It's a freakin warehouse. Full of every fabric you could dream of... every designer, every pattern. It was complete sensory overload. You know the phrase "like a kid in a candy store".... well that was me. I wanted everything. I wanted to strip down naked and dance thru the fabric. Total fabricgasm. THEN I discovered the remnant section. Tucked away in the back corner... calling me... and it did not disappoint. Remnants are great for me because I mostly make clothing for babies, and the cuts are usually a yard or under. And discounted quite a bit. I came home with some awesome fabric. Heather Bailey's Freshcuts, Michael Miller, Moda, etc etc. I am still in shock. Someone pinch me. I live about an hour away from the Fabric Depot but I think I might start visiting once a week!

You want to give me free stuff for my opinion? Uhm ok, cool :D

Some friends of ours told my husband about this website that basically sends you free products to try in return for a short report about them. The website is BuzzAgent After deciphering what the *actual* website name was biznation, buzzagency...(thanks for trying to remember honey), I looked into it and decided to sign up. I had to do a few multiple choice surveys...they need that info to base what their market is and to determine what products should be sent to people. I signed up a couple of weeks ago and last week they sent me my first "campaign product". It was actually pretty nice... one of those Glade Flameless Wisp Candles and they even put in a couple of refill scents. Oh and a few $3.00 off coupons to give to friends. In return I just had to tell some ppl about it and then write a short report on the experience. BuzzAgent gives you participation points... which lead to better campaigns and gifts. All in all it's pretty cool... our friends have gotten that automatic shower cleaning thing, and some Oust air freshener (and we got a coupon for a free can). Some other friends got one of those really nice and spendy Sonicare toothbrushes! Apparently they even give away things like stays at hotels because I saw that someone had written a report on it. Wouldn't that be nice! *crosses fingers* LOL

Oh btw... here is a coupon for $5 off the Glade Wisp Candle and a coupon for $7 off the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner AND a coupon for BOGO Free Oust Air Sanitizer! You're welcome :P

A Few Favorite Baby Items From Etsy!

If you have never heard of Etsy, I urge you to go look now! The simple glance at http://etsy.com/ will turn into a full blown addiction before you know it. I adore Etsy. I can't live without Etsy. If you have children it's also a wonderful place to find unique gifts for those lil darlings! I have soooo many things on my wish list.... I will give you a peek :)

First is this beautiful hand smocked Bishop Style dress set by mytreasuredheirlooms. It takes my breath away. I love how sweet and innocent it looks, just perfect for a baby. The smocking is amazing and the tiny roses are so perfect! I show the 5 piece set here, but they also have the bonnet and the booties listed that you can purchase separately. *sigh* :)

Another one of my favorite things are these little sock babies by Chickabiddybaby . They are so precious and adorable! I purchased the rattle version for my daughter and I just love it. She personalized it with my daughter's name and also a little yellow rose (my daughter's middle name is Rose). Very soft and shabby-chic. Definitely a very special little keepsake to pack away for her! They also have some wonderful "sock kitties" and little onesies for sale. Take a look! :)

I also love the little skirts and dresses from the DrearyNeedle. I purchased a couple of things from here and absolutely love them! All of her dresses and skirts seem to be unique, and with a wide range of sizes from infant to 4t. I especially love all of the extra touches, ribbons, lace, ruffles, buttons, etc. Many of the dresses are made from vintage fabric and things like tablecloths and pillowcases...very creative! AND she offers free shipping, you can't beat that! :)

Bumble Bee Designs is another shop with items that have made it onto my wish list! If you are looking for that extra special baby shower gift then look no further. I pretty much want everything from BumbleBeeDesigns! Little flowers and bees, bunnies... ACK! I almost can't handle the cute overload! All of the clothing is handmade and hand-embroidered. All of the designs are her original designs. She even offers a few pieces that are geared towards boys, embellished with fish, trains, or bears. I love love love this shop and I have been coveting a few things for quite a while now! Maybe it's time I finally make a purchase :)

Too many hard-boiled eggs from Easter!

Well, this is my first post on my first blog. And being that it's just after Easter and I am hungry, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about food! :) Most of us have a ton of hard-boiled eggs left over after Easter. I find this amazing considering how many have to be tossed in the trash after being left out in questionable temperatures for hours. Not to mention all the eggs that are trampled casualties of the hunt! I set out to find a good recipe for that old time favorite - Egg Salad Sandwich. I found this delicious looking recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Egg-Salad-Sandwiches/Detail.aspx
It looks yummy and has great reviews. My tummy is growling as I type this! Can't wait to try it out!
